We have now held all our planned flu clinics. If you are, or will be, over 65 on 31st March 2019 please call the surgery to arrange an appointment for your flu vaccination. Please note that due to unprecedented demand we have exhausted our supplies of flu vaccinations for patients under 65. We will update this message should we manage to acquire more stock.


From 12th November 2018 pharmacies can no longer request prescriptions on your behalf. Medication can be requested ONLINE, IN SURGERY or VIA FAX/LETTER. The surgery can not accept requests more than 7 days before you run out of medication. Please allow 3 working days for the Doctor to process your request. 


From 25 May 2018 photo ID will be required to collect prescriptions, med 3 (sick notes) letters, referral details or anything else from the surgery. If you wish someone to collect on your behalf please complete a consent form prior to this and return it to the surgery. Click to print a THIRD PARTY CONSENT FORMS.


We may sometimes inform you about your test results / diagnosis via text message. By giving the surgery your mobile number consent to receive information via text message is implied. If you do not wish the surgery to contact you or via text please inform reception.

Emergency Treatment after RTA's.

If you are seen at the surgery for emergency treatment after a road traffic accident you will be required to pay a fee of £21.30 which can be claimed back under the drivers insurance, see the main page for Further Information 


We are now a Yellow Fever Centre and can offer Yellow Fever vaccinations to anyone who requires this.  You do not have to be a patient here to receive a Yellow Fever vaccination. Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the nurse. The cost is £59 - this is for the vaccination and the certificate, payable in cash only at reception

LATE FOR AN APPOINTMENT - if you are late for the start of your appointment the clinician may not be able to see you. This is to reduce other patients wait time by sticking to their appointment times

There are now more bookable GP, Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant appointments in Northampton, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

The Northampton GP Extended Access Service is an extension of the surgery, it is not a Walk-In-Service – You need to make an appointment.

Getting There:

by Car:

There are a limited number of free parking spaces available at the front of the building. Additional chargeable parking is available in the hospital grounds.

by Bus:

Several buses stop at the hospital and at the Cliftonville entrance which is closest to Highfield, buses include:

Buses traveling east: 1,5,55 & VH services.

Buses traveling west: 1,5,9B,51 & VH services.

by Bike:

There are a number of covered cycle racks at the hospital and located at the front of Highfield.

How do I book an appointment?

Phone the surgery on 01604 670780 to request an appointment at the Extended Access Service. 

 Please note that your consent will be required in order for an appointment to be booked for you, you will need to confirm a mobile phone number with the surgery, consent to a SMS message being sent and take the phone to the consultation.

Will I see my own GP and/or Nurse?

You will be seen by experienced Northampton GPs, Nurses, and HCA's but it is unlikely that you will be seen by your own GP or Nurse. If you would prefer to see your usual clinician, please book an appointment at the surgery with-in normal opening hours.

Will the GP I see have access to my medical record during my appointment?

Your medical record will, with your consent, be available to the Health Care Professional that sees you to ensure that they have the information they need to give you the best possible care.

A summary of your appointment will be sent back to your own GP practice electronically to ensure that your record is up-to-date. An appointment with this service will be just like an appointment at your own GP practice. Further information about how we use your medical record is available at
