LATE FOR AN APPOINTMENT - if you are late for the start of your appointment the clinican may not be able to see you. This is to reduce other patients wait time by sticking to their appointment times.

Emergency Treatment after RTA's.

If you are seen at the surgery for emergency treatment after a road traffic accident you will be required to pay a fee of £21.30 which can be claimed back under the drivers insurance, see the main page for Further Information 


We are now a Yellow Fever Centre and can offer Yellow Fever vaccinations to anyone who requires this.  You do not have to be a patient here to receive a Yellow Fever vaccination. Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the nurse. The cost is £59 - this is for the vaccination and the certificate, payable in cash only at reception

We currently have 2 vacancy (one 37.5 hour and one 30 hour) in our Reception /Administration team.  The successful candidates will work on 5 days a week between 8 am and 6:30 pm plus 5 Saturday's a year from 8am - 12 noon.  Experience is not necessary but is desirable. Nurse Practitioner – Minor Illness

Woodview Medical Centre, a friendly training GP surgery in Northampton, is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner with prescribing and minor illness qualifications to complement our team of GPs, highly skilled nurses and Health Care Assistant.

The successful applicant will be required to work alongside our current Nurse Practitioners and GPs to manage the on the day demand and minor illness clinics. The team work collaboratively and the role is full supported with GP back up.

Good interpersonal skills and a reliable, professional attitude is necessary as well as the ability to work flexible hours including one Saturday morning a month. Experience in using SystmOne is not essential but would be desirable.

We envisage this being a full time position but finding the right candidate is more important so hours may be negotiable. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Supportive friendly practice with on call GP support throughout the shift.

No out of hours duties.

The successful candidate should ideally be able to

  1. See patients who need urgent on the day appointments. To examine treat and triage effectively. Admission to hospital where needed
  2. Do home visits and refer patients / sign post to hospital where required.
  3. Be able to manage minor illness and prescribe where required.
  4. Read hospital letters, read code and add medication where needed. Write referrals where needed.
  5. File blood test results where needed according to practice developed protocol.
  6. Do quality improvement audits
  7. Work effectively as a team with other colleagues.
  8. Support GP colleague with other task including QoF and NHS health checks if needed.

Salary negotiable depending to experience and the ability to see minor illness’ and prescribe.

We have a clinical room including automatic bed, curtain and sink available to let. The room has its own access from the car park and a toilet near by. There is also a office and waiting area.  Room is ideally suited for a beautician, physiotherapist or chiropractor although the room can be adapted for most needs.
