The practice is committed to training new GPs for the future and Drs Boteju, Narra and Ong offer teaching opportunities for students at various stages of their training programme.
Medical Students
On occasions there may be one or more university students placed at the practice. The intention is for them to be present at your consultations. You will be advised of this when you book your appointment and although we do hope that you won't mind assisting in their training, you do have the opportunity to decline if you so wish.
Foundation Doctors
Foundation Doctors have the opportunity to gain experience in a series of posts in a variety of specialties and healthcare settings. They spend four months with the practice and although they are able to see patients they are supervised and supported by our General Practioners. At the end of the Foundation stage they may choose to further their career as a General Practitioner or they may opt for continued hospital training.
Specialty Registrar (GPST)
The Specialty Registrar is a little further along in their training to become a General Practitioner. They also spend four months with the practice. They see patients but are supervised and supported by our General Practitioners.
On occasion we may request to record the consultation for training purposes. Any consultations recorded will be treated in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will ask you to complete a consent form before and after the consultation. If you do not wish your consultation to be recorded please let the Doctor know. Your treatment will not be effected in any way.
