MESSAGE FROM WOODVIEW MEDICAL CENTRE

In December 2021 the government announced that England is moving to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant. Woodview Medical Centre remains committed to providing services to our patients in a covid safe way whilst also protecting our staff to ensure that we may continue to be able to provide a service to our patients. We will therefore continue to offer a predominantly telephone triage service where patients will be seen face to face should that be clinically indicated. We will continue to provide Treatment Room services such as Blood tests, dressings, ECGs, cytology screening, immunisations etc. We remain "open" as we have done throughout the entire pandemic, just in a different way to pre pandemic times.

It is important that our patients continue to seek medical advice for serious conditions of if they develop symptoms that cause concern. We also strongly encourage patients to come for their screening and immunisations.

As many of our patients are seriously unwell or immunocompromised etc we will also be following guidance and requesting all our patients to wear a facemask or face shield unless clinically exempt. We shall be restricting the numbers in our Waiting Room but as many of those patients who cannot wear a face mask or face shield are often those who are most vulnerable, once booked in, those patients may prefer to wait outside in order to reduce their exposure to other patients in the Waiting Room where ventilation is at a minimum. We thank you for your co-operation in helping to keep us all safe!

Please do not attend the surgery if you have a new persistent cough, a raised temperature, a change in taste and smell or flu like symptoms

 COVID VACCINATIONS - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

In line with the government's announcement, the NHS is aiming to offer every adult the chance to book a COVID-19 booster vaccine by the end of the year. This means our practice is now prioritising the booster rollout.

As part of this, some of our routine services may be stood down temporarily to allow us to focus on protecting as many patients as possible.

We are still there for anyone who may need care for an urgent need, but would ask for patience as we support this key national priority over the coming weeks. We hope to be able to start back up any services as soon as possible and will update this message as soon as we know more.

Those patients with mobile phones will receive a link to book their own appointments but if you have any difficulties please do call us. Patients without mobile phones will receive a letter or telephone call if we have a current landline telephone number for you. We are currently holding joint clinics with the other member practices of our Primary Care Network, Moulton Surgery and Earls Barton/Penvale Park Medical Centre at Moulton Community Centre, Sandy Hill, Reedings, Moulton, Northampton, NN3 7AX.

Please do not attend the surgery if you have a new persistent cough, a raised temperature or a change in taste and smell
